timTim Tobey has been with the Knights of Valour for the past 11 years. He has been interested in the medieval era since he was a boy. He began making his own swords, helms, and chain maile even before he started jousting. During the past 11 years he has won an impressive array of medals, ribbons, and titles and travelled to many different towns and competed in various states.  View Tim's Photo Gallery

Tim Tobey He has obtained his jousting quest by unhorsing his teacher and team leader Shane Adams. Tim is the only jouster known for this impressive title. He is a dedicated member of the team and could be considered Head or Senior knight as he has been with the team the longest along with his team mate Rob. Tim is a self-taught armourer and has made most of the suits that clothe his fellow knights. He continues his jousting career as he has up and coming knights in the house of Tobey. The most recent, his son, Sir Lawrence of Essex, being newly knighted last year. All his accomplishments would not have been possible without the love and support of his wife and kids and his beautiful white Percheron Monty.
Montegue

Montague - 2010

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to the best jousting horse ever. Monty passed away August 2010 due to illness and will be forever fondly remembered by Tim and his family. Monty was trained to joust by Tim and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. He was a very spirited horse and some even called him crazy. With lots of patience and hard work, Monty turned into the perfect joust horse that anyone could ride. Tim’s children have learned to ride using Monty and his 3 sons rode him in games, mounted archery, and in the joust. He was an awesome horse and we will miss him very much. Thanks for the memories Monty.
